This is the Meta Plan, the plan for building the We Plan:

We are not disorganized but disconnected. We have self-selected and self-organized and self-lead our prior efforts. We must coalesce these efforts into one global organism. One organism with many parts, and a single purpose.

Our purpose is the benefit of everyone. Our plans will show a credible way to accomplish these benefits. Our execution will deliver these benefits.

The 20^th century was about building with intelligence.

This century, the 21^st century, will be about building with wisdom and heart.

Common Purpose

The plan starts with our common purpose. Why do We do, what We Do? What do We hope to achieve? What values do We hold in common? What do We believe about ourselves and our possible future?

Some of the common threads of the current global discontent: being left out; being disenfranchised; bought democracies; extractive plutocracy; political and social organization designed by and for the few at the expense of the many; wage slavery; growing global poverty with world governments in retreat; food systems that are inhumane, dangerous, wasteful, and unhealthy; inability to cope with natural disaster; and more.

We have backward progress on the species-level threats caused by business and industry gone amok as we consume our way to: massive climate change, dangerous spread of biotechnology we do not understand, and resource depletion of fossil fuels and clean water. Our political systems and structures do not have the expertise, will, or speed of decision required to address today’s complex world.

If we are to unite to address these problems and the foes that further them, we must come together in purpose. Our purpose must not be weak and diluted.

We each have different prioritizations for the problems. We can fight over which prioritization is correct. Or?

We can seek to solve, not just one, or a few of the above problems, but all of them. All of them at once. Together. In both senses of the word.

This is the purpose of the We Plan:

Strong forward progress on all of the major problems we face. No one gets left out. Everyone ends up better under the We Plan.

The only way to harness the combined energy of all humanity is to build a credible plan that betters life for all humanity. This betterment must be measured by each individual’s perspective, not by a global set of “ideals” but by each one’s choice for how they’d like to see the world improve.

So some small set of us, can’t decide for everyone. Instead, We must ask each individual to tell us what they think and need. The local plans must address these local and individual needs.

This is the view of a living organism. The work of the many cells supports the entire organism. The organism supports and supplies the individual cells in synergy.

Building the Plan

First, we must start with the end in mind. What does the world look like when the plan is implemented? What is different? Specifically. Nuts and bolts. How many of what where? What do our lives look like? How do we allow everyone maximum freedom to pursue their own path? How is the world organized? How do we prevent the problems we see today?

There are answers. Many have been working on the pieces for years. We must put these answers together in once place: the We Plan.

Then, we must work backwards from the end to determine: What kinds of changes we need to make? What resources do we require to make these changes? What do we need to build? What specific expertise do we need? How do we train people to have that expertise? What is the most efficient way to accomplish our goals? How can we learn as we go so our process, and the plan itself, adapts as we learn what works best and what does not?

Where we have only questions, the Plan will be to run experiments to find the best answers we can. We will learn from each other as these experiments run.

The We Plan will be broken down into pieces, split by domain and geography, so we can work on the Plan in parallel. Some will work on design for technologies; some on design for social structures; some on the logistics systems required to deliver the people, information, and materials required under the plan, some on the architecture of the Plan itself.

A great crowd will work in parallel. Just as we collectively and continuously build Wikipedia, we will collectively build the We Plan.

The We Plan will be developed both top-down and bottom-up simultaneously. Some will tie the pieces together. Some will flesh out the details of the pieces. The entire Plan will be visible to everyone all the time.

The We Movement

The We Plan will be a living plan. We will reach a point where we have enough built to know what We must do: The first steps. So we will take them.

We will tell others about the Plan. We will work together to get more people to help us.

Many will come from the human rights movements because our plan will be the most credible way to provide equal rights for everyone, all over the world, women, men, young, old, black, brown, white and every shade in between… everyone.

Many will come from the environmental movement because our plan will be the most credible way to quickly move to a sustainable ecologically sound world.

Many will come from the libertarian and anarchist movements because our plan will be the most credible way to reduce the need for state force and will greatly increase civil liberties.

Many will come from the local foods movement because local sustainable production systems are the most efficient, healthful and intelligent systems, and the Plan will be efficient, healthful and intelligent.

Many will come from the open source software and hardware movements because the Plan will incorporate an open commons-based approach to intellectual property.

Many will come from the poverty and equality movement because we will be addressing poverty and the lack of resources in a massively organized and logistically superior way.

Many will come from the animal rights movements because we will make changes to our treatment of animals that harmonize with their passions.

Many will come from the sustainability and alternative energy movements because being sustainable is the only way to ensure we can develop without damaging the future for others.

Many will come from the poor and the unemployed and the forgotten because We do not forget them.

Together, We will comprise the We Movement.

The We Movement will be people of all walks of life, all religions, all continents, all races, all humanity’s rich tapestry.

Implementing the Plan

As the We Movement builds, We will begin implementing the plan. We will find resources. We will make the parts. We will educate. We will build.

We will have a movement with the force to make political change where necessary, to pool resources and knowledge, to stop destruction and looting by the few against the many, to remake the world in the image of our highest dreams.

We will help each other find our way.

We will each choose for ourselves where we can help in the execution of the Plan.

We will help each other in the execution of the Plan.

We will adapt.

We will enhance.

We will improve.

We will continue.

We will enjoy each other’s company.

And we will not stop until we reach the stars and beyond.
